Uncontested: When the parties agree about the issues of their case.
Under penalty of perjury: A way of saying you could be punished if you have purposely made a false statement (lied).
Uninhabitable: A rental unit that has such serious problems or defects that the tenant's health or safety is affected. A rental unit may be uninhabitable if it is not fit for human beings to live in, or if it fails to substantially comply with building and safety code standards that materially affect tenants' health and safety. (Compare to habitable.)
Unlawful detainer: A lawsuit in which a landlord tries to evict a tenant whom, according to the landlord, no longer has the right to live on the property.
Unlawful detainer assistant: Any individual who, for compensation, renders assistance or advice in the prosecution or defense of an unlawful detainer claim or action, including any bankruptcy petition that may affect the unlawful detainer claim or action.

Vacate: When a judge sets aside, or declares or makes legally invalid, an order or judgment that he or she finds was improper.
Vacate the default judgment: Getting a default judgment removed or erased. (See also default judgment.)
Venue: The particular court in which a legal action may be brought.
Violate: To break, or disregard.
Violate the Orders: To not obey the court's Orders. To ignore the instructions signed by a judge in a court of law. The violation of Orders is punishable by fine or imprisonment or both.
Violation: A breach of a right, duty, or law.
Visitation: Refers to the time when the non-custodial parent has the right to be with the child.
Visitation Plan: A plan which details how parents will separately and jointly meet their responsibilities to their children as to visitation.
